Karianne Dorion

Karianne is a 5th-year doctoral student in clinical psychology at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on improving insomnia treatment for people with mental health difficulties. She is also interested in the relationship between sleep, mental health and physical health.

Karianne provides bilingual assessment and intervention services to adults under the supervision of Dr. Vanessa Tassé. She has had various internship experiences in university, hospital and private settings. Her clinical interests, experiences and training focus on anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, insomnia, sexual problems, as well as emotional and relational difficulties. Karianne uses an evidence-based, integrative approach that integrates cognitive, behavioural and emotion-focused techniques. Her approach is warm, empathetic and collaborative.

Karianne turns to therapy, writing, self-care and quality time with her loved ones. In her spare time, Karianne particularly enjoys travelling, reading and sports.
