Sophie St-Pierre, D.Psy
Sophie is in the final process of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) at the Université du Québec en Outaouais. She will be supervised by Dr. Marie-Pier Vandette until she obtains her professional licence.
Sophie has experience working with children and adolescents facing various difficulties (e.g., anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, selective mutism and separation anxiety, depressive disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, oppositional defiant disorder, gender dysphoria, and autism spectrum disorder). Sophie has a caring, warm, empathetic, and collaborative approach. Her practice is based on the client’s needs and strengths based on different evidence-based approaches.
In her doctoral dissertation, Sophie explored how coping strategies can help moderate the anxiety of adolescents from immigrant backgrounds who are subject to ethnic discrimination.
