Interest-Based Group

Description:

  • These social skills groups will enable children and adolescents to develop social bonds with each other by sharing activities based on common interests.
  • Examples of activities:
    • Lego building to foster fine motor skills, planning and problem-solving, teamwork and collaboration
    • Board games to practice turn-taking skills, emotional regulation when rules change, etc.
    • Discussions on topics to practice conversational skills.

Participants will be able to:

  • Get to know other people with an ASD diagnosis;
  • Engage in activities based on shared interests;
  • Practice social skills in a natural setting;
  • And many more!
